Fifa 12: Career - Form Improved

When I heard that Fifa 10 Manager Mode were to include player form I was really happy. Though, after having played with it for a while, I wished there was a way to turn it off.
Now they haven't included it, with good reason. The whole experience from Manager Mode took harm from the system. However, I've thought of a, in my opinion, nice idea to solve form - and at the same time improve players individual improvement!
The system would make a lot of use from the current ratings player gets after each and every match. For example, if one of my players after.. say three games, have an overall of 7-8 he will be on form. After every three games, form will reset. Although, he will still be on form if he was so before. But after the next three games, he might have a rating of 5 overall. He will then drop so that he is no longer on form.
Yeah, this is basically the old system a little enhanced. I'm not sure about exactly how this should be done, but it can't be that hard to create a fairly realistic system of form. I have no idea how EA failed so bad for Fifa 10. The main point is that form is something that is pretty hard to get, and can drop fast. Or rise fast, if you do a few good games.
Players not getting any time on the pitch shouldn't be on form, or off form for that matter. They should stay neutral.
Now to my second idea; what if every player's ratings would be looked at at the end of the season, or in the middle. If the overall is, for example, 6.5-7.5 the players overall would increase by one or two. And if a player have been performing badly during the season, his overall might decrease.
This system doesn't interact with the growth system we already have, in which old players decrease over time, and young players increase.
This would be very realistic. Imagine buying a wildcard, a striker with an overall of 74 to Manchester United. Due to injuries, he gets some time on the pitch and does really well! His form is great during the whole season, as you continue to feed him more playing time. After the season, despite being 28 years old, his overall rises by 3, to 77. This is something that never happens in Fifa 11. Even if you buy a player who does really, really well, he might end up the same overall next season. That is not realistic.
So what do you think? Other suggestions? I've discussed with my friends and they all find it a good idea. The system itself isn't that complicated, and makes use of overall ratings - which is already in the game.
Thoughts?|||Although I agree with the main point about form being re-introduced, to base it on the current match-rating system would rely on Ea altering it, since it is currently biased towards Centre-Back's and against Full-Back's. I have to say I don't quite understand how you're suggesting the form system works (your 3rd paragraph), but perhaps I'm missing something obvious.
Don't count on comments flooding in, I've noticed most people have stayed in the other forums.|||I don't trust the match ratings too much to let them impact my players' form, but I agree with you that it'd be great to see players gain and lose form throughout the season and how that would impact their performance, as well as their teams' of course.
Alternatively, I think maybe there should only be a morale boost and that's based on statistics and play time (where superstars would have higher standards than say a youth player). For every 3 or so matches played, the players would "look" at their performance and how much play time they got, and decide if they're happy/unhappy.
In terms of actual attributes, perhaps we can leave that to potential, aging, and training. Potential increases players' ratings, while aging (and degradation due to lack of play time) decreases them. Training would be either helping improving players improve even faster, or help degrading players degrade slower (or balance the decrease, or even turn it in the other direction). By "Training" though it doesn't necessarily mean actual training sessions, but more of a XP system that can work in many and all places both on and off the pitch. The benefit of this is that you can control how quickly you can gain "form" initially, how maintaining a superb form is increasingly more difficult, and how quickly you can lose it. In fact that's just an extension of how it works right now (I think there are three XP categories: physical, mental, and skill?) but hopefully by next year the system gets better and, more importantly, more transparent.|||Career Mode must be improved urgently.
It is depressive to play how it is...
We cant even trade players! It is an absurd!
Please EA, copy Master League from PES.|||To do Form properly I would simplify it and make it as transparent as possible.
I think it has to be based precisely off match ratings. Form is how well the player is performing, and the match rating is an assessment of performance. Obviously this means that match ratings will first have to be fixed to make them logical and balanced.
In the Player Bio there should be a number displaying the player's average rating for the last three(?) appearances. Next to this, an icon. A green icon for positive form, grey for neutral, red for poor form.
The effect of good form should be an increase in the player's mental and technical attributes. Perhaps between 5%-10%, at a guess. Obviously the opposite for poor form. Physical attributes should not be affected.
I wouldn't want it to visibly overwrite the attributes/OVR like it did in FIFA10, that was messy and confusing. Far too much emphasis is placed on these lists of numbers anyway, in my opinion. I'd rather that be kept under the hood and just be informed that this player is on good/neutral/bad form; I'm not worried about what specific numbers he has been increased/decreased to. I just need to know that he has been playing well lately and might perform above his default level if I pick him.
If my player has just played a game that alters his form (a 'tipping point'), the form icon should be visible on the match ratings screen right next to his individual match rating (or change the font colour of the rating, whatever). In the squad management screen the form should be shown in a column like the fatigue bar is, so I can see everyone's form at a glance when I'm picking my team. Form is relevant when the player has just performed and when you're picking your next eleven, so it should be communicated clearly on both the match ratings screen and the squad management screen, as well as in the player bio.
I think that's all that would be required for a simple, effective form system. Perhaps in the future it could be expanded to multiple levels of form, or treating different ratings as good/bad form depending on how talented the player is to begin with, etc. Most important is to get something in place that is balanced, works as intended, and is communicated with clarity and transparency to the user.
