tram lines have to go .....

some of you may be thinking what ????
you know when you have the ball and your opponent presses the tackle button and his player homes in on yours, sprinting with all he is worth, remorseless and heading on a collision course with you. i call this the tram line. its whenever a player is locked onto the ball they are on this imaginary tram line with no exit. the player just runs full speed in a straight line untill he either gets the ball or the man.
this happens all the time and dozens of times during a game. the amount of times i have the run on the last man, im onto a throughball but the defender steps across my path, i cant go around him because im on the the same tram line, i just run behind the defender as if im on his back and there isnt a thing i can do about it even though i have a full bar of stamina and more pace. because of this it creates this jostling effect at almost every tackle. its doesnt ruin the game, but it certainly does hinder it. it doesnt add anything at all and just makes it frustrating and unrealistic.
apart from these issues it also creates another problem. it makes dribbling in tight spaces nigh on impossible. players like ronaldo, messi, lennon, ronaldinho who in real life are very hard to defend against because of there quickness of feet, balance and acceleration but they become less effective and cant perform the things that made them the players they are. all of them can make goal scoring oppotunities by there sheer quickness to turn away from defenders and dart into small gaps left by defenders. in the game when you try to replicate these things the tram lines cause problems. instead of closing down the attacking player, if they miss the ball the defender still continues on his tram line and simply runs into the attacker and knocks him over and ultimately off the ball. now when you come across an opponent who also uses the 2nd press this multiplies this problem by 2. you now have 2 players running on a tram line, looking to either take the ball or the man from either side. doesnt matter which but it makes these world class players most valuble and most well known assests useless.
i can understand that whilst tram lines will always remain in the game to a certain extent, but they have to be toned down. make them come into play only when your player is chasing another player or trying to close them down but as soon as you get within 2 or 3 yards your user skill comes into play. you have to use the directional buttons to firstly get your player in thr right position to make the tackle and secondly to time the tackle. get it wrong or mistime the tackle and the attackers get away. there has got to be some user input / ability when tackling because the current tram line system just encourages high pressure as you cant miss a tackle in tight situations.
just my thoughts anyway
