Clamping Down on Cheats/Glitchers/The Offensive

Examples...

...the trigger glitch ( although tbf is being fixed by merely not giving you an option to look at the ratings screen, (wow, I wonder how long that took to program? :) ) however, it's March, people have got away with this glitch for far too long before EA woke up.
Played Besiktas the other day in 2v2, only for us to see that they Besiktas had recently signed Kaka, Messi, Rooney etc. etc. etc.
Leaderboard glitches, VP boosting/copying, offensive user names and Club names...Soooo....
We're all aware of the cheats etc., is it not time for EA to start stamping down on it? And what I mean by that is following Treyarch with Black Ops and temp/perma banning people's consoles from playing online. :) Yep, this is what they're doing, and it's not just one or two, they've gone on and unrelentlessly banned thousands of people. Complete zero tolerance for taking advantage of their game or offending other users, by misuse of usernames or emblems.
Of course we would need the ability to save entire matches and to report people i.e. a report button. (but surely these are overdue anyway?)
|||I'm not a big fan of banning people because it doesn't really solve the actual problem. But I do think EA should invest in match/user reporting features to allow the community to do some of the monitoring themselves, but more importantly makes it easier for EA to find those holes in their game and patch them.
|||Of course a glitch free game>Banning people.
But that's not feasible (especially when you look at ...well every FIFA.)
I think it's a good stance to take especially if you're going to take 5 months to fix a glitch, at least in the vast meatime you can ward people off from doing it with a big risk of punishment. Blacks Ops is testament for the success of this tactic.
As for people having offensive names, club names etc. how exactly do you tackle this apart from banning them?
Morons should be banned. :yessum:|||Nah I wasn't saying EA needs to make a glitch free game, but they need better methods to identify the glitches when they occur (because they will occur) and be able to find out why they happen and how to stop them. It wouldn't be taking 5 months if these things can be tracked faster.
I do agree about offensive names though as it's not really a fault in the system so perhaps the only step left for EA is to ban them temporarily and give them a better unchangeable name (something funny they're stuck with forever :) ). Though I'm not sure if that's EA's responsibility or MS/Sony's? .. either way, there's no place for them in the game and they definitely need some harsh measures.
|||Agreed on the identifying part.
Time it's taken is too long though. In the meantime (re: the trigger glitch) any form of real competiveness in the Club's leagues has become an absolute joke and bordering on pointless. In fact it's not bordering, it's ruined it -especially for people with elite clubs who take the leagues fairly seriously and play fairly.
However, if EA had done what B.O did, and threatened people with bans for taking advantage of their game's faults before they patched them (i.e. going outside the map etc. ) would we have seen the massive influx of cheats in Club mode, ruining it for everyone else?
Black Ops would suggest it wouldn't.
If it proves that they can't identify and fix glitches that ruin entire modes much better and quicker than they're exhibiting atm, I think this is a good solution, and deterrent that has proved to work.

I'm wondering if FIFA has some sort of "evidence gathering system" that makes EA comfortable to warn people and later on carry through with those bans. For example, if somebody somehow cheats his way to 100 straight wins, do they appear any different on the server logs than somebody who has genuinely won 100 straight, or somebody whose opponents have quit on him in 100 straight wins? ... If EA do have such system in place, then I don't see why they wouldn't feel comfortable making such warnings and carry out with their promises.|||I always remember that video of Mr Rutter saying he had a specific team to watch and catch the cheaters for Fifa11 or was it Fifa10(not sure). What happened?

  1. Hey Alec,

    I am sick and tired of custom tactics too. I only use standard teams, players and do not use shitty tactics like 100% pressure and aggression. If you want to play fair people like me on xbox, add me
