I am an avid Fifa fan who was hugely disappointed with the Manager Mode in Fifa 11. On Fifa 10, if you were manager and used your 'Be A Pro' player in your team, but you were sacked, you were able to keep your player with you when you signed on as manager of a new club.
In Fifa 11, I was manager of Wigan, got sacked and then my 'Be A Pro' player completely disappeared. When I became manager of another team, he no longer existed!
I ended up trading in Fifa 11 and buying back Fifa 10.
I am writing in the vain hope of begging the producers of Fifa 12 to change this back, so that you can keep your 'Be A Pro' player with you at all times. I would really really appreciate it if this could happen, as I definitely want to get Fifa 12, but only ever play Manager Mode with your 'Be A Pro' player in your squad.

But EA, Career mode in general needs major sorting out: Especially player development and player sales...|||It's not just if you're sacked, it's anytime you want to change club I believe. It's a stupid design decision - one of MANY - and should be changed. This was not an issue in FIFA 10 when using your VP in MM.
|||It's annoying because I really want to get Fifa 12, but if the manager mode is the same as Fifa 11, where you lose your Be A Pro if you change clubs, I'll just have to trade it in again. So it's probably not worth the risk of spending £40 on a game when I'd just have to trade it in when I find out it's not been improved.|||Trust me, you aren't alone in being hesitant about buying FIFA 12 just because of CM. Sounds like they got it wrong with Fifa 11 in lots of ways. :)|||standard, the game is *, the AI is shocking and the gameplay just sucks!! i was a big fan of fifa 10, really disapointed with 11. They need to get developers that understand football not just computer buffs who focus on making the game look good! Pro Evo 2011 on the other is great for gameplay, may be lacking on team names and database but it plays so much better and the graphics are better too!! so in all Fifa 11 = Massive fail|||career (manager) is the main single player mode so it should be rock solid. on the pitch everything in the game in near perfect. a lot of people mention development as a problem, and it is, but I also think team chemistry should play a role next year.|||Team chemistry, along with morale, fitness, and form, should most definitely be one of the pillar features of CM to ensure a more dynamic feel to the mode.
It's down-right laughable that UT has some of these features, albeit basic versions, while CM is threadbare.|||needs to be an online manager mode. so you can play your friends. Like Online Franchise in madden, but better made.
Ability to transfer players, systematic advance system, multitude of different competitions, so in a league theres a simultaneous cup going on. could maybe link to other user leagues for a champions league style thing?
Would mean you have to team build etc. but vs mates.
If this is too much, at least let you link your manager mode to a friends, so even if there are only 5 of you able to play, you can control the top 5 english teams, play cpu and each other, vie for stars around the world, sell players to each other, match up in the league and cup tournaments etc.
Some form of interactive community league is what is missing, other than that this game is damn near perfect.
Could do with ability to individually select socks and shorts (say as Man U and you are playing Newcastle select the white socks and shorts combo with red jersey etc.), more boots and accessories, hairstyles and general customisation. (ability to choose default celebration, FK and penalty taking style, personality traits like you can for creation centre players but for every player on console)
I'd like at LEAST 1 free roster/squad update after the january transfers. I know it's a business but 45 quid straight up is a lot of money. I'd hope we can have at least updated squads after january transfer period for online and offline leagues. Manually doing these transfers take a long time and also mean you're not eligible for trophies and awards if you do an offline league.
more stadiums, more atmosphere (like World Cup game), maybe more minor injuries in manager mode.
add more difficulty ratings, but not over powering the CPU, but making them play smarter. eg. Lampard on FIFA 11 can skill out anyone, but in real life he doesn't dribble past people, he'd put an incisive pass through the defense. Their vision should improve not their ball skills on these harder difficulties.|||If you're interested in an online mode you should check out UT or Master League Online in PES because FIFA has no business taking CM online until it first establishes a decent single player mode first, which at this rate won't be for a few more years, if ever.|||the PES one is garbage. the gameplay nothing on FIFA.
UT is just a money spinner and I have no time for that *. I want to manage a real team, just like offline, but play my mates, who may live in another town or not.
I agree with you though, fix offline first, but all that needs is a whole lot more attention, one more dev cycle on it and it should be considerably better.
Online probably works better in the latter half suggestion I have, as I'd realistically only have 5 to 10 mates in one league trying to win the title. I feel there's a huge market for it, and it'd add to the game a great deal. It's great fun trying to battle your mate for the signature of a young player or superstar and it also means that those big games will be a bigger challenge, with the right tactics on world class you can trounce chelsea or liverpool with arsenal etc.
|||This is the first FIFA game I buy...but i have played fifa at friends houses before. I had fifa 11 on computer till i got an xbox and bought fifa 11 for that. gameplay on xbox is better than the pc version...although the manager mode in fifa 11 pc is the exact same as manager mode on fifa 10 console (i guess they just copy pasted because they were lazy to design a CM for pc as well). my main concern is the difference and lack of quality in the career mode on console fifa 11.
THE CAREER MODE ON PC FIFA 11 IS WAYYYYYYY BETTER (essentially bc its fifa 10 CM, so i guess you could say fifa 10 CM is better). I really like the idea of virtual pro...its fun making him get better and progressing with him. However, it sucks * that when i want to "WORK" my way up in CM as player manager, i cant. i normally like starting low then working up to Real madrid, and i did that on the pc version of CM (fifa 10 CM). but on xbox i cant....im stuck with the same stupid club and also have no sponsors to make some cash off of. They really need to put the check box back in to CM to make sure your pro stays with you alllllll the time in player-manager mode....i get other offers from clubs as manager, not player-manager. this makes no sense at all....why would i accept a manager job, then i would have chosen manager at the start of a new career.
also they have removed the be a pro international cup from all Career modes. it was fun in fifa 11 pc (fifa 10) because it made you feel like you were in the world cup when playing as a pro.
just to sum up.....some mega needed improvements for the next update/game are.....
-player-manager offers at the end of a season in PM mode
-the return of the sponsors to make more money
-the return of the Be A Pro international cup in all Career modes (player, manager, and PM)
-team chemistry, thats one of the most important things for a manager
-the news page is kinda cluttered and annoying.....no need for info of winning a game that you know you just won
-the ability to buy like football gear with the money you make from your career....like sweet new mercurials or brand new keeper gloves, even buying celebrations would be cool, or a car that u can pull up to at your clubs stadium in the cutscenes.
fifa 11 was a bit of a let down because honestly, i liked the single player mode in fifa 11 pc (fifa 10) alot more|||please please please could you bring back scouting, and young players !
fifa 11 gets boring after one season, because you just have the same players.
fifa 10 can be played for alot longer due to the new players always coming in to the diff teams (although the naming system sucks)
also if possible, bring in some classic players, figo, zidane, maldini, muller, etc.
if possible, bring them in as youth players when scouting !
imagine the possibility, it would be 1000000000 times better than ultimate team.
also please allow us to edit players during CM, i mean specifically the accesories and boot types and styles.
i would like my team to have something conforming, to show off.
also that would be better so you can change the boots as real players do during a season.
basically, please bring back the scouting system, it added alot to the game, we just want a wider variety of players to scout. give a patient player a chance to benefit from playing through more than one season.
in fifa 10 i played through 9 season with ajax and managed an awesome team.
i hope somebody hears me , now i am off to create players because i cnt scout them :)
btw the game play in fifa 11 is awesome !|||To be honest who wasn't disappointed in FIFA 2011 - Career mode was a flop - A.I. movements was too unrealistic.
I Think Career mode flopped in these areas:
- Player development
- Took away the scout and upgrading staff like in Fifa 10
- Not being able to purchase players until 2 seasons in
- Player Valuation always changing RAPIDLY (one season Lloris was £22million the following season he's grown to 86 and he's valued at £15million)
- Promotion Finance - I got promoted to to premiership with Huddersfield; I got I think 200 or 500k ! what am i suppose to do with that!!! but with QPR and Coventry I got 8 Million!!
I would love to see featured in FIFA 12: -
- Swap deals with finance
- old player growth much better
- No point of having a player who will not move from his team (Schweinstiger - Messi - Neur Etc) we want to buy them let us
- Two player Season mode (maybe that would be too big maybe)
- CLASSIC XI - what about Z.Zidane; Rui Costa; Roberto Carlos; Cafu; ETC
- Maybe having a youth sqaud you can look after in Fifa as well as First team and reserves.
