Boycotting FIFA?

This is not a thread simply to bash EA. This is a statement of facts that have lead me to take the decision to boycott FIFA11 until further notice, and not purchase FIFA12 until i can be sure it does not have the same failings as FIFA11.
The list of problems with FIFA11 is getting rediculous. This game has not been at any stage of its shelf life been satisfactory. As a consumer, i feel it is my duty to tell you EA what is wrong with your game, ignore this 'Feedback' at your peril. (This will be a long post)
First off, i'd just like to point out, most of my issues are with the Online features of the game, but single player is not completely ok itself, there has been a bug since release that would cause your Virtual Pro to Disappearing after one season when i played as a player manager ( This was true of about 5/6 career modes i have in fact played, and most if not all of my friends experienced the same issue) this makes playing Manager mode redundant when wanting to level your pro up and continue to play your manager mode for more then one season. :)
Before i jump on to the main issues with the game, which are, unsurprisingly all to do with the online experience, even the simplest of features in FIFA11 fail to work. The In-menu leaderboard system has not worked since release day. The error message "Data can not be retrieved" is always there to greet you as you first load up your game, an omen perhaps, for what is to follow.
Right, lets get on to the main problems, and why i feel i can no longer play this game, as all the enjoyment has been sucked out. I can forgive the issues above, if it were not for the multiple other failings.
Your servers, EA, your servers. For the first few weeks, if not months, Online Clubs was unplayable, as was Pro ranked match. To this day, i can not play a game of Clubs with more then 3-4 people without one of us getting that horrofic, horrofic delay. Ultimately costing us game after game. And when the delay was reported to you? What did you suggest? "Clear your Xbox's Cache" Which may work once, but it would only take until you find a game with somebody who did not clear their cache for the lagg to come back. How is that anyway to treat a consumer, using us to test your solution, and ultimately when it did not work, nothing else changed to fix it. Disgusting behaviour.
Then there are the random freezes, bugs when playing that will cause the game to freeze, and its a battle of sheer patience till one side quits out. I've lost many a cup final due to your servers, where my friends will have to quit out because they are not willing to waste our time sitting staring at our screen, waiting and hoping for the other team to quit. This happens not only in clubs, but in EVERY online game mode. Ranked match, Clubs, Ultimate team. These freezes have cost me wins, coins, and most importantly time. Once, i waited almost TWO HOURS on ultmate team in a final of a cup that was going to give me 5 thousand coins because of a freeze. A freeze not caused by me, caused by your servers, and people abusing them.
Another issue is one that is also happening is that when When merely starting fifa11 up during the various checks that must be done when starting the game and going into the menus, FIFA11 has started to say "EA Servers are not currently available" when in fact they are available, and not only this, i have friends already online and playing your game. Issue after issue.
Another connectivity issue is very similar to this one, however, this one has a twist, after
succesfully connecting to the servers, when trying to load up Ultimate team, it says the servers are "Unavailable" and indeed it continues to do so until either you lose patience trying, or it randomly decides to let you on, which can be a very brief experience, or an exercise in fustration, once, it took me 15-20 minutes to get on to ultimate team. Is this any way to treat your loyal consumers?
All of these issues, and more minor issues, are ruining my gaming experience and my leisure time. I see no point in wasting anymore of my time on this game, any enjoyment is ruined by stress from disconnecting, and is not worth it anymore. The only reason i feel FIFA is still the most played Real-time football game, is because there is no better alternative than it, PES is miles behind, and beyond that, there are virtually no other games of this genre. Becuase of this, maybe EA feel they can treat us as consumers however they want, at times it has felt like FIFA11 has been abandoned by the developers. The only time that Ingame menu leaderboard has worked, has been when their have been damned special offers on, or Ultimate team offers. Does this all come down to greed? And complete disregard for the player/consumer?
I will not be playing anymore FIFA11, and would advise people not to support EA sports by not buying FIFA12, until we can be sure that it does not suffer from the same failings as FIFA11( I name EA sports because, thus far, any experience i have had with the other EA devisions has been positive).
Fix Your Servers, Fix Your Attitude, Fix Your Game.
|||I agree, my god, I AGREE!
I'm not going to buy FIFA 12, before I've read some reviews.
And trust me on this one: I will not buy Fifa 12, if I hear ANYTHING about freezing.
My friends feel the same way.
EA, I suggest you fix the freezing problem, because you're losing customers.
My friends who haven't got it themselves, but have experienced it at my place, knows that in Fifa 12, they might get this bug.
That's why they are not going to buy Fifa 12 just right away.|||If the whole "EA Servers are not currently available" thing isn't fixed by the release of Fifa 12 then count me as another lost customer. I'm not buying Fifa 12 if I can only play it sometimes like is currently happening with Fifa 11.|||I'm glad someone has put all the issues that FIFA11 has so tactfully. Today, after having the game crash on no less than 3 times within a hour on FUT, I've had enough. In my experienc, the game crashes offline, data get's corrupted (example being squad data - player's names change e. g- kaka = kamil?), online is a joke because of the servers.
I've been playing FIFA since Road to the World Cup 98'. I've bought every single game. I value what I've spent at hundreds of £'s to purchase these games. Last years installment was the worst. The stupid online pass issues (which still after almost a year, I am prompted to supply my code on occasions.) The blatant money grabbing tactics to get people to buy packs on FUT. I remember seeing a post by an Admin stating that the major problems had been fixed a while back - all of them were minor issues, and he ignored everyones questions about "why don't you fix online clubs?" or "why is there still issues with micropausing". But hey, aslong as you can freely buy more goldpacks, they aren't bothered.
Another slight concern. Fifa titles were usually released in October. Why have they been moved forward? And why is it that FUT was available straight away last year? Perhaps it's because EA could squeeze every penny out of us, and not properly BETA test the game, and make sure everything was perfect before release.|||I agree, I'm getting sick of the D/C's from EA Servers Fifa 11, I can't get into Vitural pro game without getting the most two stupid errors everyone knows about, head to head ranked matches always freezes and when I'm in FUT I always randomly Disconnects, apparently the servers have been put into place for Fifa 12 but not Fifa 11, EA are * stupid and clever they put the fixes in to Fifa 12 so no1 disconnects but leave it on Fifa 11 so you move onto Fifa 12, but some people may not, please FIX FIFA 11 EA SERVERS.
AND TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY WE FUKING PAY FOR EA ONLINE PASS TO PLAY FIFA 11 TO RECIEVE THIS PIECE OF * SERVICE, ARE YOU ACTUALLY FKING KIDDING ME EA FIX UP

That’s one side of it. The other side is on us. For FIFA 12 we have spent a lot of time looking at our code for OTP and Clubs in order to improve the reliability of your connections to the game. We decided that was probably more important to you than anything else we could do.
So here’s a few bullet points to explain what we’ve been working on:
Testing, testing, and more testing. We’ve done much more testing in other regions of the world, using differing connection strengths. In particular, we’ve had groups continuously working on that in Argentina, the UK, and obviously here in Vancouver. We’ve also done a lot more wireless specific testing, brought in better load testing for our servers and kicked off early pre-launch testing on our final, live servers.
Better tools: We’ve now got much better tools to help us debug issues in both gameplay and online code. One problem that can occur with gameplay (rather than online code) is the dreaded desync. This is where a very specific event in an online match somehow becomes interpreted differently by different people’s local games. When this happens, a disconnection will occur. It’s a complicated thing and affects any game with online modes, but when it happens in Clubs we know it can be very frustrating. We’ve spent a lot of time using our new, improved tools to unearth these gremlins and sort as many of them out as we possibly can for FIFA 12.
Better matchmaking: A lot of the problems people have experienced with FIFA 11 comes down to people being inappropriately matched for games. FIFA 12 will include improved matchmaking to prevent less than ideal matchups. Additionally, we have moved authentication and matchmaking servers (what we call ‘central’ servers) to Europe now, which will mean logging in and navigating online screens should be much snappier for most people.
