Fifa Clubs...Does it merit it's own Title or carry on as a mode within the Fifa series ?
Given the huge following Clubs has currently around the globe, should Fifa Clubs have it's own title or stay within the Fifa series...if clubs were to have it's own title more focus could be spent on the following...
Tournaments:
Online Tournaments, Home & Away Fixtures with goal difference & Penalties deciding the outcome.
Leagues
The ability to create a league format, weekly fixtures with Clubs matched by Rank points.
International Games
To be able to play for your Club side and to be called up for your Country and take part in World Cup's, Euro's, Asia Cup's etc.
Virtual Pro's
New and improved accomplishments (Train your Pro)
Overall Stats shown in your Virtual Pro History
Transfer Windows
Goal scoring Charts for each season ( Golden Boot awards)
Club Manager
The ability for Club Managers to tag a player and place on a watch list, similar to ebay, so if a Manager comes across a player that he has been impressed with and would be interested in signing..either a pro rank game or a club match, he can keep an eye on that player progress (games played, goals & assists etc) .
Real sponsorship deals (Shirt Logo)
Clubs challenge system, where clubs can earn money by winning games with the aim of upgrading their Stadium & training facilities.
Ticker Bar with club results shown during your games, Managers could select Clubs they are interested in following and watch there progress.
I'll add more detail shortly, just interested in what everyone else thinks to this idea ?
|||Sounds cool BUT DON'T GIVE EA ANY IDEAS. They can barely handle one game with this dev team, 2 would be a disaster. Also real sponsorships wouldn't work.. at most there are 22 people watching a game, those 22 people being the players for both teams. Unless we let people spectate which would drive up the lag and disconnections even more.|||Maybe EA can do like what they did on PC a year or so ago by releasing an online only game, there are definitely lots of great directions that EA can take with the idea of VPs and Clubs, but I don't think right now it requires shipping a whole new title.
It'd be spreading EA resources too thinly for one thing, it also means gamers would be paying for two titles in order to play two modes of essentially the same game. Also, I'm not quite sure how popular Clubs really are, whether in raw number of users (compared to say, H2H or UT or even offline CM) or when it comes to people putting enough dedication to tournaments/leagues for the separate product to succeed.
That's not to say any of the suggestions above are too much*, but I just think they don't necessarily warrant a whole new title. Clubs continue to evolve in FIFA, and I don't see why we can't organize friendly tourneys/leagues, create lobbies and transfer markets (with a currency system of course), have seasonal events (clubs or international), let alone the trivial things like defining our own club logo/kit, and have better VP accomplishments or stats tracking. All these are great improvement ideas for Clubs that will happen step by step, they're not reasons to release a separate title.

* Perhaps having real sponsors is a bit "too professional". There are well established platforms for professional gamers and perhaps something can be set-up either by EA (read: all sponsors are EA-related :)) or other organizations that run these things.|||Nah. Paying for 1 buggy game i can live with, but 2 no chance.|||Yeah, there are a lot of problems that a FIFA Clubs title would have to overcome. The logistics of EA creating up to three X360/PS3 titles a year would be far too taxing for them as things stand - the WC/Euro titles already seem to stretch them too far.
Plus it would have to be strong enough to warrant a separate purchase (whether full price or as a digital download), which would be a pretty sizeable barrier of entry. At the moment EA want to make Clubs more widely played and accessible; cutting it out of their 8 million selling title and slapping an additional price onto it would do the exact opposite.
If EA were looking to get some money out of Clubs then I'd probably do so by putting a £3.99 price tag on being able to customise your Club more fully (emblem editor, kit editor, front menu skin editor), maybe giving them some additional infrastructure controls like being able to prioritise other VIP Clubs when quick searching for a match etc.
That said I personally would make a separate Clubs title fully manual. For me, manual controls are at their best when you are only controlling one player, and because you are only having to focus on one player it is a lot easier to keep your passes accurate.|||Like this idea....
